Janie Bryant’s mad genius work on Mad Men is finally available to stylish gals of the 21st century through her collaboration with Black Halo. The collection features eight amazing pieces and I’m desperately sighing for one of her elegantly edgy designs. Modest skirt lengths are paired with sexy slits and bold prints are balanced with soft silhouettes — it’s everything you could hope for and more from the Emmy-nominated costume designer. Check out the collection for your own Mad Men moment.

This comedienne’s got more than jokes, she’s got Style. Melissa McCarthy isn’t as well known for her fashion choices as she is for her acting, but that might change with the upcoming launch of her clothing line next month. The actress actually studied textiles before moving to NYC with friend Brian Atwood (yup, designer Brian Atwood), where she forewent finishing at FIT to pursue stand-up. Over 20 years later her designer dreams are coming true and we finally get to see a rather over-shadowed side to Melissa. To say her Style is bold is an understatement. She’s fond of trends and patterns, which she keeps sophisticated by opting for monochromatic palettes and muted colors. From sneaker wedges to pussy bows, her Style is a healthy mix of classic and edgy. Take a tip from Melissa and mix it up a bit– even if you end up laughing at yourself, fashion is all about having fun.

The reality TV star turned fashion mogul has come a long way since her days on The Simple Life. Still as hilarious but a little more grown up, Nicole Richie’s personality is as spunky as her Style. I like to think of her style as bad-ass boho, a great mix of vintage silhouettes with rocker details, not unlike her line House of Harlow. She’s by far the only person I have ever seen rock the lavender hair trend if that’s any indication of her soft yet outspoken style — and that’s no easy feat. Also a mom, Nicole sets the bar high for effortless style while always looking comfy and confident in anything she wears. Maybe her life has never been simple, but take a tip from Nicole (who’s never liked jeans) and stick to simple items you know you can wear all day for lasting comfort and confidence.

With the second installment of her collaboration with AG jeans hitting stores last week, I’m already sighing for the fabulous Fall collection. True to her seventies aesthetic, the designs feature high-waists, flares, lots of denim, and a personal fave of mine, corduroy– not to mention overalls and rompers. This chick makes anything look cool; it’s even almost affordable to dress like the It girl herself…head to AG Jeans for a blast from the past and, let’s face it, your fashion future.

In a perfect world Alexander McQueen would still be with us and we’d all be wearing his armadillo boots. Alas, that was years ago, so this week I’m sighing for a resurrected pair of his iconic boots, which will be auctioned off this week at Christie’s to benefit Unicef. Sadly the boots aren’t in my budget, but one lucky fashionista will be reliving a piece of fashion history in this piece of art.
