S4S: July 19th
In a perfect world Alexander McQueen would still be with us and we’d all be wearing his armadillo boots. Alas, that was years ago, so this week I’m sighing for a resurrected pair of his iconic boots, which will be auctioned off this week at Christie’s to benefit Unicef. Sadly the boots aren’t in my budget, but one lucky fashionista will be reliving a piece of fashion history in this piece of art.

S4S: July 12th
There are really only two kinds of footwear for summer: espadrilles or bare feet. This week I’m sighing for the sandal epitome of summer in bright colors like this eye-catching pair by Castañer. With a tradition in the Mediterranean, putting on a pair of these babies makes you feel that much closer to nude beaches and turquoise waters. The best part is they’re such a staple that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look like you bought them on the Côte d’Azur, brands like Soludos offer equally adorable espadrilles for a plebeian penny.

My July calendar says “Take me to the sea” in swirly blue letters, and that’s exactly what I intend to do this week. To spend my day at the beach in style, I’m sighing for a chic towel vest. If you’re not much of a swimmer, you can throw on some boyfriend jeans with your vest and bikini for a stylish stroll in the sand, but the brilliant concept is the perfect way to bundle up in cozy terrycloth without looking like a frozen burrito after a refreshing dip in the sea–that’s my kinda beach day!

S4S: June 28th
The Fourth of July is for freedom and fireworks, and fun fashion? Fun, maybe, but I wouldn’t call an American flag string bikini fashion forward. This year I’m sighing for something a little different–after all, this is Independence Day we’re talking about, time to be rebellious. I love sequins for festive occasions, it’s like fashion fireworks that just keep on giving. And it’s so easy to love teal, pink, and gold as a fun and modern alternative to the traditional red, white, and blue. Whatever you choose, wear it with flair, Fourth of July fashion should be as proud as our Nation.

S4S: June 21st
The news of an exciting new footwear collaboration delightfully surprised the fashion world recently, and now I’m sighing for a coveted pair of Peter Pilotto for Ancient Greek Sandals. The fun prints and colors on these sandals lend an extra spring in your summer step and beautifully complement a simple white cotton dress (a summer staple). Unfortunately, the brilliant designs are part of the Resort 2016 collection and won’t be out until November, so all that’s left is finding a tropical destination for winter vacation to show these babies off!

With Peter Copping dressing his first bride for Oscar de la Renta and Sweden’s newest princess making headlines in a Swedish design, it’s been a big week for weddings world-wide. And now that wedding season is in full bloom, I’m sighing for that magical moment myself–that magical moment when you’ve found the perfect dress, of course! Luckily white is the perfect color for summer–find a fun dress that flows or has a beautiful lace detail and who needs the wedding when the dress is a fairytale in and of itself?

In honor of her Swarovski Award for Womenswear at the CFDA awards last week, I’m sighing for one of Rosie Assoulin’s amazing creations. After first stepping onto the scene in 2014, Rosie Assoulin has quickly made a name for herself in the world of fashion. Her pieces are impressive in the way a work of art is–in fact, the frames from her S/S 2015 collection even bring to mind Vermeer‘s domestic interiors. They’re dramatic while maintaining a beautiful simplicity about them, making them highly coveted by just about everyone.

Two weeks ago I featured the trending jumpsuit, but this week I’m sighing for its adorably comfortable cousin: the romper. The chic silhouette works for so many occasions, and a silky floral one (like the one I have my eye on) is a beautiful ode to Spring. True to it’s name, it’s playful and perfect for a Spring or Summer romp!

Folks, Memorial Day weekend is here, marking the beginning of summer for many and with that—pool season! That’s why I’m sighing for an adorably retro bikini, which is also quite a trendy item this season. It is flattering on absolutely everyone, highlighting hips for boyish figures but trimming the waist for curvy girls. Aside from it’s spanx-like powers that work miracles on your tummy, the silhouette is so fun and glamorous–just watch your tan lines as they are not as fun!

With one of the most renowned Film Festivals happening in Cannes right now, I’m sighing for some French Riviera glam. An easy beach tunic is the perfect outfit for a lazy Sunday in the South of France–or Southern California in my case! Throw on a straw hat and some big sunnies to complete that je ne sais quoi look. It’s perfect for french girls, starlets, and everyone else in between!

On a day where I am so far away from my own mother, I’m sighing for the perfect outfit to honor her; and luckily this season is chock full of fun trends that are perfect for Mother’s Day! Gingham is a personal fave of mine because it reminds me of picnics, summer, and all things youthful. The retro pattern is not only glamorous, but it gives me a warm and fuzzy nostalgia similar to that feeling you get when you open a care package from your mom full of goodies from home–it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a dress, especially today!

In celebration of the announcement of Bertrand Guyon as the new Design Director at Schiaparelli this week, I’m sighing for this amazing “trompe l’oeil” dress from the Spring/Summer 2015 collection. True to the history of the fashion house, this gown is a spectacle in and of itself, bringing that element of theatricality that is so deeply embedded with the Schiaparelli name. Bravo to the brand for a beautiful revival thus far!

I can always count on Who What Wear for some Sunday Style inspiration. Today’s breaking Style story: the adorably versatile overall dress I’m sighing for. If you keep up with Trendy Tuesday, you’ll know this pinafore is not only adorable, it’s also right on trend. Though it’s hard to know how long trends may last, this piece has the advantage of working for more than one season. You can wear it with a simple tee and sandals in the spring and summer, and even keep the piece through fall by warming it up with leggings, boots, and a fitted turtleneck. With affordable options being offered by retailers like Asos and Topshop, there are endless opportunities to rock this too-cute trend.

I’m no prepster, but I still can’t resist a little color and print for this season–and nobody does color and prints like Lilly Pulitzer. In celebration of the brand’s collaboration with Target that comes out today, I’m sighing for the adorably fun (and cheap) collection. Perfect for the beach, the pool, or any sunny destination, nothing brightens up an outfit like some gold starfish, colorful palm fronds, and a pink and orange giraffe.

Coachella is in the air and I’m sighing for the perfect outfit to (virtually) take me there. The renowned festival isn’t just known for it’s music line-ups, fashion has become such an integral part of it that “Coachella” has become a style in and of its own. Flowy, easy, and colorful, this kaftan is Coachella in cloth–I would expect nothing less from Mara Hoffman’s groovy designs.

This Sunday I’m sighing for a pretty little purse to take to my Easter feast. The adult version of an easter basket, a wicker purse is perfectly themed for this holiday–and perfectly subtle to sneak home some chocolate bunnies.

This week I’ll literally be sighing for a sleep mask on my trip to France. On my first transatlantic trip since moving to L.A., there’s no better accessory on a 10-hour flight than a Stylish sleep mask. The only thing better than looking good after an international flight is feeling good–after all, that’s what Style is all about!

“Florals? For Spring?”–we all know how Miranda Priestley feels about that, but we still can’t help but welcome the first signs of Spring fashion. It was a long winter (okay, maybe not here in LA), but fashion works in seasons too, and I’ve been sighing for florals all winter long. There’s nothing like this fun print to turn your wardrobe from gloomy to bloomy!

With a new Disney movie in theaters it’s a magical weekend and I’m sighing for a Cinderella moment of my own. Since my prince is on the other side of the country, there’s only one way to get my fix: with a gorgeous maxi skirt fit for a fairytale. It makes an unconventional but perfect evening look with a fitted crop top, or do a daring day-time look with espadrilles and a tank. Either way you’ll feel as pretty as a princess.

In light of Springing Forward today I’m sighing for something sunny like this adorable sun hat by Kate Spade. More sun calls for more protection, and there’s nothing more Stylish than a straw hat to beat the heat. Paired with a flowy dress, this sun hat is so easy and sophisticated, the perfect look for longer and warmer days.

Who thought stickers could make a such a big come-back after second grade? These clever leather stickers by the London-based bag brand Anya Hindmarch have me sighing like a schoolgirl again. If I can’t get an Academy Award, then I want my second favorite Oscar– de la Renta, of course! That’s why I’m sighing for this subtle and sophisticated tulip brooch. The motif is a season signature in de la Renta’s collection, representing a fresh fashion rebirth for Spring. As elegant as ever, this classic tulip brooch is a wardrobe winner.

It’s New York Fashion Week! And with such a white weekend hitting NYC, I can’t help but wish I were there rocking that winter street Style in some snug and stylish boots. Made of sturdy german lambswool, jute, and leather accents, these all-natural boots are just what a fashionista needs to stay warm and with it.

Another awards night is upon us, folks! That’s why I’m sighing for a Grammy-worthy clutch this week. The Fitzgerald Geometric Clutch by high-end evening bag brand Kotur, a favorite on the red carpet, is everything you could ever want on Grammy night (besides a Grammy, of course). It’s Superbowl Sunday! This scuba-jersey skirt features a trendy print inspired by cleats, and even has zippers on the side for an extra touch of sporty-chic. With Sundance in full swing this week, I’m sighing for these DVFabulous earmuffs. Perfectly fitting for a ski bunny, there’s nothing like leopard-printed earmuffs to add a little glamour to your ski suit. And even if you don’t have the luxury of being whisked away to a winter wonderland, a fun pair like this will warm your soul on any bitter-cold day–snow or not, faux or not.

Sundays are for existential conversations–and hats. And let’s face it, what’s more casual-cool than a Magritte-inspired beanie? That’s why I’m sighing for this adorably artsy chapeau by Eugenia Kim. Just stick a baguette under your arm and some dark, mysterious sunnies on your face and your cool factor will be off the charts–so meta-chic.

This week I’m sighing for something fabulously warm for the impending temperature drop. This sheepskin stole by Topshop is one of my favorite fashion pieces for winter–and it’s exactly what a freezing fashionista needs (cold is not cute, my friends)! A fantastic layering piece, fuzzy stoles need not be real fur to look chic. Slip it over a coat or a cardigan and use it to frame a beautiful neckline or necklace and voila–instant elegance!

I’m such a sucker for festive fashion, so even though these Saint Laurent glitter boots hit the streets months ago, I’ve been waiting for just the right moment to feature them. Perfect with an LBD or even sequins if you’re going for over-the-top, these shoes are the ultimate NYE party pair.

With Winter officially beginning tonight, the only thing I’m sighing for this Sunday is a cozy pair of slippers. All the excitement of going home for Christmas has me sighing for luxurious luggage this holiday season. This timeless trunk gets an update with wheels and a collapsible handle but maintains its charm with gold accents and textured red leather. When I moved to L.A. two months ago, I was told we were in a drought–and it has since rained on me twice. That got me sighing for an umbrella, but not just any umbrella, this Alexander McQueen umbrella featuring–you guessed it–a skull handle! The motif is so wicked that no one will notice your hair frizzing up the size of your umbrella–it’s a must for any fashionista.

Hermes never ceases to amaze me with all their clever ideas. First, it was the Kelly watch, now i’m obsessed with the Medor. A two-in-one gadget, the Medor watch doubles as an edgy bracelet. Leather and steel, this timepiece is one of a kind, but it doesn’t come cheap. At $4,300 you better start saving–will it be worth the wait? Only Hermes time will tell!

Ladies and gents, the designer collab everyone has been waiting for is almost here! The lookbook for Alexander Wang’s 58-piece collection for H&M was launched just a few days ago, and it. is. perfect. His sporty-chic pieces are amazingly wearable while still maintaining their edge. My personal favorite is this cropped sweatshirt, which offers a fresh new spin on the lazy fave. The simply fabulous top comes in a heather grey and solid black (like most of his collection) and it goes with absolutely everything. Prepare to get in line, his limited collection is available on November 6 online and in 250 H&M stores worldwide.

In an effort to have some of that LA cool factor rub off on me since my big move to the City of Angels two weeks ago, I’m sighing for this Anita Ko Lightning Bolt bracelet. The LA-bred designer is known for her simple yet edgy pieces–which are more often than not crusted in diamonds. This wicked cuff happens to be crafted of 18-karat gold and 3.90-carats of diamonds. Oscar de la Renta is synonymous with glamour, so it’s no wonder his tassel earrings are so classic. This beautiful balance of modern shapes with nostalgia for past fashions, all while incorporating a classic color combination, is a great example of something that will never go out of Style. For years these earrings have been selling out in all lengths and colors, and while plenty of tassel earrings exist on the market there are none quite as elegant as Oscar’s.

This Dinosaur Cuff by NOir NYC is so cool it sent chills down my spine. If you’re looking for a unique statement piece, this is the one! There is such elegance to the vertebral column, yet the idea is a bit eerie and unconventional–there’s nothing like it. The brass bracelet, which is sold in plated gold or rhodium, was actually designed for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney’s Fantasia. Even at $450 it’s in high demand so keep checking eBay and other resale websites for lower prices.

As summer comes to a close, I’m looking for fun accessories like this Rada Veiled Beanie to usher in fall in the most stylish way. Hats are a great touch to any autumn outfit, but this hat takes the cake with its tongue in cheek casual chic. The beanie has never looked so sophisticated and never has the veil looked so edgy.

A weekend of celebration had me sighing for a festive minaudiere. A fancy word for evening bag, the minaudiere is even considered a jewelry piece. Unlike the clutch, which is more like a pouch, the minaudiere is usually a case, making it perfectly suited for fancier affairs. A fun minaudiere like this lantern from Charlotte Olympia is not only reserved for the red carpet, use them to add some fun to a more conservative or monochromatic look at a wedding or evening event. Check out Rafe or Kotur for a wealth of evening options at more affordable prices.

Ever since the Chanel backpack made its controversial debut in the SS14 collection, I’ve been ruminating on the chicness of backpacks. As one who prefers not to fumble with handbags, I’m a huge fan of the grab-n-go aspect of these bags. But investing in the right one–the one that will last until you’re an old lady and never make you look like a contestant on “Are You Chicer than a Fifth Grader?”–had been a challenge until I found this one by Loeffler Randall. The key lies in its combination of mature and coquette. The minimalist design in a demure black leather is so sophisticated while the backpack is youthful in and of itself, creating an elegant yet sprightly piece. This timeless combination might be priceless, but at $495 you may want to check Asos for other options.

We’re making old school chic this week with Marie Turnor‘s one of a kind clutches. These supple leather bags come in all shades and sizes starting at $110. Play up the cheekiness by flaunting it as an evening bag in black or metallic. Or keep it cool in tan or red with jeans and a white tee. No matter how you wear it, all the cool kids will be wishing you had packed their lunch. Who knew a brown bag could look so scrumptious?

Time is on your side with this one-of-a-kind cuff from Tiffany&Co. At $12,000 , you can forget about adding it to your wish list, but do take some inspiration from the 18k gold cuff. There is nothing more classic than roman numerals, which the cuff embraces in a modern way. The sleek simplicity of the digits give it an art deco vibe that pairs perfectly with a crisp white outfit in the summer. Shopping for simple statements like this cuff are well worth the investment (just maybe not 12 grand), they’ll make any easy outfit fashion-forward. This Sunday I’m sighing for Jean Paul Gaultier’s Summer Tote, specially created to benefit The American Foundation for AIDS Research. At $40, this beach bag is a steal–not to mention the great cause. With its iconic JPG stripe design and playful nautical colors, this is the ultimate summer tote. Although it doesn’t come with Heidi, take a page from her au-natural look and pair it with anything basic and casual for a little splash of that french je ne sais quoi.
